Rainy Days and Tuesdays

One of the inevitable circumstances of RVing is weather. Watching diligently from multiple sources keeps the traveler aware. Today is one of those days.

Crazy clouds above Cracker Barrel

We spent the night at Cracker Barrel due to two failed attempts at Walmart. The first Walmart was in a not so safe area and had signs posted everywhere boldly pronouncing that No Overnight parking was allowed. The second Walmart was even more over the top in their desire to keep truckers and RVs out of their parking lot as they had height restriction gates everywhere!

We, of course, had to have dinner at the Cracker Barrel. It’s RV etiquette, and it’s good! K had a burger and dumplings. Yeah, it’s a strange combination. I had cheesecake stuffed pancakes breakfast for dinner. Oh my gosh, was it delicious. And of course Jim was the healthy one with a salad and grilled chicken. Whatever 😆

Sleeping in a parking lot may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it allows us to travel until we want or need to stop. Jim put in a very long day driving, but as he said, it was better than sitting in unbearable heat. We slept fairly well and woke up kinda late.

Of course, the weather decided it was going to have its own way. But that’s okay. Sometimes, it’s God’s way of saying slow down. We waited for a while, drove for a while, and waited some more. Now we’re back on the road with cooler temperatures, and then we have had for weeks and pretty scenes to bless us.
