As said before, weather is an all-important aspect of RV travel. We waited the storm out, and our instincts were spot on. As we traveled west towards Dallas Ft. Worth evidence was everywhere that not all had been lucky.

For us, we are grateful that this was one hitchhiker we did not pick up. According to the news, hundreds of thousands of people were without electricity, major damage to buildings, and flooding of even interstate highway I30 occurred. Originally, we were going to go straight through Dallas, but after Google Maps kept saying there was flooding on I30, we switched to I20. After looking at the link below, I know we made the right decision.

RVers have no excuse for not being safe. It’s not the days of old where you have only road signs and paper maps to guide you. As seasoned RVers, we have Google Maps, Garmin GPS, Fox 35 Storm Team app, and RadarX app in our safety toolbox. We also have strong instincts about when to go and when to just Ride Out the Storm.
Our prayers are to all affected by these crazy storms and stay safe out there, our fellow travelers.
