After seven days of one night camping, we have finally landed. Somewhere near Roswell, New Mexico is a state park with bottomless lakes, a funny octogenarian, a quirky mismeasured camp ground, and beautiful sunsets.

We are at Bottomless Lakes State Park, Lea Campground, about 14 miles from Roswell, home of the aliens 👽. It’s quite an interesting area. We learned a lot from New Mexico’s State Park information site, which I’ve linked below. The park has several lakes that are actually sink holes. The deepest is 90 feet deep. People come to hike the area, swim in the lake, camp, bird watch, and simply enjoy a small part of New Mexico enchantment.

As for us, we plan on staying for a couple of nights. It’s hot during the day, so we will head to Roswell and see how much cheesy fun we can get into. That is if we don’t get abducted. 😆 Look for us in our spaceship.
